Deoridhe had spent probably more time than she should have primping, trying on about eight dresses before settling on the one she finally chose. Hair done up - check. Cute heels - check. Religious icons.... check. She took a taxi to the Chinese restaurant, not wanting to be late, pausing out of view of the door to fluff her hair and check her lipstick before walking toward the door.
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "was sitting back in his chair fingering the bracelet in his palms he looked around signaling he would wait till his date got here to order as he crossed one leg over the other bobbing his foot. Then looked up and spotted her making sure to put on that calm happy smile as he stood waving to her just outside the door.~"
Deoridhe stepped into the restaurant quickly, a smile on her lips, and says, "Hi, Cirus. Hope you weren't waiting too long?" She beams at the waiter, too.
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "when he saw what she was wearing he adjusted to the side and turned his smile up another hundred watts as he gestured to the table moving to tug her chair out for her.~" You look very pretty and your right on time i didn't have to wait a bit."~he said with a soft smile her way clutching the bracelet to hide it as he held out an arm for her.~"
Deoridhe blushes. "Oh, thank you," she says, sounding more than a little shy. She sits down, only a touch awkwardly. "I'm glad you didn't have to wait!"
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "he smiled and shook his head at her even as he moved to sit accross from her leaning forward slightly.~" You look very very nice did i say that already? Feel like i havn't said it enough..wow..."~he said with a slight flush and blink looking down pretending to be shy about it. What hair had escaped from the small tight pony tail falling into his face innocently.~"
Deoridhe blushes even more, ducking her chin. "You said it, but it's nice to hear again." She offers him a grin, saying, "Sorry, it's just... been a while since my last date, so..." She toys a little with the hammers around her neck, flushing again. "Um, so how was your day?" she asks, then, brightly.
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "he smiled as he leaned forward and held his hand out for hers.~" Oh it was very nice. I went out of town for a bit. Needed to get..some things drycleaned. "~he said with a sheepish grin.~" I found this wonderful little shop selling old Egyptian relics and whatnot. ITs very nice little place. Lots of fascinating things. Including a few i just couldn't help but pluck up."~he said with a grin eyeing her as he waggled his fingers indicating he wanted to hold her hand.~"
Deoridhe tilts her head to the side, giggling a little. "I love little shops," she admits. "You find the most amazing things there." She puts her fingers in his, nothing in her expression but innocent curiosity.
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "he smiles as he nods his head.~" Today i found the most interesting intricate beaded bracelet and i just had to get it for you i'm afraid."~he said as he slid his other hand up opening her palm and laying the glowing beaded bracelet in her palm closing her fingers around it.~" I do hope you like them and that it wasn't presumptuous of me to get them for you."~he said with a faint flush looking up at her from under the strands of hair with that blush painting his face and that ever so sweet smile.~"
Deoridhe looks amazed, eyes very wide. "Oh, you shouldn't have," she says, fingers closing around the bracelet instinctively. "That's so sweet, but... I remember you said you just came to town - I hope, I mean... wow. Thank you." She looks down at the bracelet, curiously, glancing up at him from under her lashes and saying, "I don't know quite what to say!" before laughing nervously.
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "he would smile brightly as he watched her clutch it causing him to grin brightly.~" I'm happy you like it then. I was nervous you'd be upset with me. My Ma Ma taught me that you always buy a lady a gift on your first date."~he said with that beautific smile. Completely false also. His mother had told him to avoid ladies unless you were using them. IF he wanted dates to date whores cause you could buy them cheap food and never have to bring them home to screw...aaahh endearing memmories of mommy dearest.~"
Deoridhe is blissfully ignorant of Cirus' thoughts, giggling a little and teasing, "Usually, though, it's flowers! Not jewelry." She fumbles with it, trying to put it on one handed without success.
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "he smiles as he leans forward helping her in tying it at her wrist with a soft smile.~" Ma Ma insisted on Jewelry. Flowers are usualy an indication that your too clingy or you think your date smells bad. They're for mourning and weddings to keep the odor of death or the odor of soo very many people down. At least that is what she believed. She told me to never give a bunch of flowers to a woman. Its insulting to them and yourself. "~He said with a nod as he leaned back once done smiling.~" Sorry to drone on like that i talk when i'm nervous.""
Deoridhe shakes her head a little, saying guilelessly, "Was she Cajun, too? You said you were Cajun, right?" She holds her arm out, admiring the bracelet and turning it this way and that so that she can see how the light hits it. "It's really beautiful, Cirus, thank you," she says, cheeks flushed.
[[Deoridhe is now cursed - effects are bad luck, disorientation, and a slight fever]]
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "he smiles that same sweet smile as he watches her admire it and lifts a hand indicating they are ready to order their food.~" What would you like to drink and eat?"~he asks softly as the waiter gets ready to come over. I'm glad you like it. Also yes ma ma was Caijun..and very very opinionated."~he said with a soft bright smile.~"
Deoridhe pets the bracelet a little with her hand, fondly, glancing up and saying, "Oh, well, I love their crab rangoon and beef with broccali." She grins a little. "I don't know what the cook puts in it, but it's delish. And their oolong tea is wonderful."
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "as their waiter comes up hearing all that he nods his head with that bright smile holding up his credit card so they wouldn't have to bother with the check later.~" We'll take that and i'd like some Unagi as well as coconut shrimp with a small thing of fried rice please. Is there anything else you wanted ma`cher?"~he asks as he looks back at her cheeks flushed slightly but seemingly happy to be on the date with her.~"
Deoridhe blushes at the name mon cher, shaking her head. "No, I think that would be wonderful," she says, smiling up at the waiter.
[19:02] Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "he smirks and nods as the waiter scurries off to get their order. HE leans forward watching her intently.~" So tell me more about your chosen studies. What drew you in and whats your favorite type of personality?"~he says indicating he remembered their first conversation and even wanted to listen more about it. His head canted to the side.~"
Deoridhe tilts her head the other way, brushing hair out of her eyes. "Well... it's kind of a muddle right now," she admits. "I'm majoring in criminal justice and psychology both. I was thinking of maybe being, you know... a therapist for preternaturals. There's a market out there for preternaturals who need support, right? But I was also thinking of working in some of the criminal hospitals they have - though honestly I'm probably too trusting to work there." She rolls her eyes, smiling a little as she admits with supreme dramatic irony, "I probably couldn't recognize a really dangerous person even if I was sitting across from them!" She toys with her bracelete, smile slipping a little as she realizes she's feeling slightly... dizzy?
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "he smiles and chuckles leaning forward as their drinks and some of their food is brought out.~" I don't know i think you have excellent taste in friends and whatnot. ~" He said with that dazzling smile as he sips at some of the tea poured into a cup for him. Grimacing just slightly around the edges he sets it back down lifting several sugar packets snapping them against the back of his hand tearing them and pouring them in. Not even noticing someone might spot it as a move of most alchoholics. Needing their sweet fix. He was what was called.... a functioning...alchoholic. Same as his mother. He stirred in the sugar pouring in a bit more tea before adding more sugar in the same gesture he'd learned from his mother from a young age.~" I was always pondering going into psychology. I'm fascinated by the criminally insane. ""
Deoridhe admits, "They are fascinating." she picks up her tea but isn't gripping it quite strongly enough, or something, because it slips from her fingers and splashes on one hand and the tablecloth. "Oh, no!" She uses her napkin to try to blot up the tea, dunking it in the tea cup without realizing it.
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "he watches and smiles leaning forward to assist her slowly.~" Careful you'll burn yourself. "~he says as if coming to her rescue as he plucks a piece of ice from his drink wrapping it in a napkin he presses it to her hand and plucks the napkin from her helping clean a tad more successfully.~" Are you alright..you look a tad pinked? If your not feeling well we can get this to go and get you home. I don't want you to get ill ."~he says with that soft well meaning smile showing concern in his eyes.~"
Deoridhe blushes. "No, I'm fine. It must be after effects of my headache from the other night." She offers him a sweet smile, then wrinkles her nose. "Honestly, I'ms urprised I made it home without being mugged after ...that vampire did that. Just lucky, I guess!" She's trying to put the best spin on it, adding, "The headache is almost gone, which I'm really glad for, but maybe, you know.. clumsiness lingers."
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "he blinked and tilted his head to the side finishing cleaning up the small mes with a smile thankful to the waiter for getting the napkins.~" What happened now. I don't believe you told me bout all this?"~He asks feigning concern already somewhat getting an idea of what could have happened. A broad grin splitting inside his head. Even as he lifted his tea to sip from it slowly. Still not enough sugar but oh well.. Then as more food was brought he smiled and plucked up his chopsticks cracking them with practiced ease rubbing them together as he listened eagerly for the rest of what had happened.~"
Deoridhe picks up her chopsticks casually, selecting a few pieces of beef and broccoli to put on the rice in her ricebowl. "Oh, I guess that was after you and Blade ran away?" she asks. "Not that I blame you! I'm glad you got away from him - you have no idea. Anyway," she continues, "he was mad," a slow sigh, "very, very angry at me for interfering. And I guess one of the things he can do is," she gestures with the ends of her chopsticks, "hurt people. It happened once before - I didn't realize it was him then, but it was like..." she shivers, "it was the worst pain I've ever felt. Like.... everything hurt. Breathing, walking, standing, existing. Even my skin hurt all over." She's paled a little, remembering, but valiantly clears her throat and takes a sip of tea. "Ow!" and promptly burns her mouth.
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "he blinks watching her trying not to smirk and thankfully succeeding.~" Oh dear.. seems my Remi was mad with you... I've noticed the..thing you talked about. "~he said with that beaming smile as he held a hand out for her cup lifting another piece of ice up from his water to plop into it using chopsticks this time so she wouldn't have a funny taste i her tea. Chemicals people picked up on their hands when going on dates and all.~" Are you alright? It was a tad hot i should have told you."~he says looking apologetic.~" You've probably the worst luck of anyone I've seen."~he said with a soft half joking smile.~"
Deoridhe gives Cirus a sort of hesitant, embarrassed smile. "I'm not usually this bad," she says. "I tend to be a little clumsy, but... bad luck day, maybe?" She offers her cup to him for the ice, sighing softly. "The thing?" she asks, then. "Remiel he.... he isn't bothering you, is he?" She leans forward, clearly concerned. "If he is... well, there's another vampire who kind of runs things? He told me I should always tell him if I get harassed by a vampire, and I'm sure he'd say the same thing to you!"
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "he gave a slow smile as he eyed her over his own cup of tea after plopping ice into hers.~" Remi is my master. I am his .. primary food source."~he says with a soft smile tilting his head to the side observing how she will react to the news feigning to be slightly embarrassed about the news.~" You caught us at a ..disagreement..he's a tad too touchy feely for me."~he said with a small chuckle as he plucked up some sushi chewing it.~"
Deoridhe 's jaw drop and she blushes. "Ooh.... oh... oh gods, I am so sorry. I ...I didn't know." She drops her head a little. "I am SOOO sorry for interfering, then. Really." She offers him a pained look. "I really am too nosy, huh?"
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "he just smiles and shakes his head leaning forward offering his hand to her.~" Its quite alright no harm no foul. I'll let Remi know it was a misunderstanding I'm sure he will say sorry for mistreating you."~he said as he continued to munch food aiming to comfort her slightly so that he would seam like her knight in shining armor. When he was realy trying to rot her from the outside in.~"
Deoridhe admits, "I think it's too far gone for Remiel and I," she admits. "I'll just do my best to keep avoiding him." A pause, then she adds, "It's nice to know he had a regular ....friend now, though. When I first met him, well.... he bit a friend of mine against his will, so I kind of thought..." She sighs, looking down at her food and saying in a slightly miserable tone of voice, "I really should have given him the benefit of the doubt." She's so distracted by her thoughts that when she moves her chopsticks she whacks herself in the cheek.
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "attempts to not chuckle and drinks a sip of tea quickly to cover it up feigning a cough as he pats at his chest.~" OH goodness seems its catching. Maybe we realy should take this elsewhere to eat. For some reason i feel so clumsy tonight."~he said a blush heating his cheeks fegining he hadn't seen her hit herself with the chopsticks so she could pretend it hadn't happened and clean up while he patted at his chest and tryed to stop coughing.~"
Deoridhe wipes her cheek with her napkin, blushing crimson. "Oh, I hope it's not catching," she says. "I feel like a fuddle fingers!" She sighs a little, adding, "Maybe that's a good idea. A change of venue might make things easier."
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "he nodded and waved his hand up a bit.~" Could we get this all to go please. Yes i'll pay the extra thankyou."~he said with a bright smile as he stood up moving over to help her up so she wouldn't fall.~" I think so too. Must be first date jitters."~He said with a chuckle flushing as well as he moved to help her up.~"
Deoridhe accepted the help gratefully, especially when dizziness hits when she stands up. "Those may be catching," she jokes, turning too quickly and banging her thigh on the arm of her chair. She winces a little, leaning even more on Cirus before straightening and smoothing her skirts.
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "he helps her straighten and blinks feigning worried for her.~" Oh dear i think we might need to take dancing off the menu tonight."~He said as he lifted a hand to her forehead touching the back of his hand to her face patting it softly.~" Hn i think your running a bit of a fever... should we get you home or somewhere?"~he asked as he tilted his head to the side.~"
Deoridhe looks concerned. "Am I?" she reaches up to touch her own forehead, but her hand is hot, too. "I'm sorry, I'm not much of a date, am I," she says, regretfully.
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "he pats her cheek and leans forward slowly so as to give her time to back up if wanted and lays another one of those kisses on her cheek.~" It's quite alright ma`cher. You cannot help that you are feeling unwell. Lets get you home."~he turned and called over.~" Could you add some of that wonderful chicken broth with the dumplings in it its dumpling soup or something like that. I think it would help her feel better."~He smiled as he got a nod and leaned down to give her another kiss on the forehead.~" I do hope your alright he whispered into her hair again feigning concern.~"
Deoridhe dips her chin a little, saying, "Isn't that what I should be saying to you?" She offers him a shy smile. "You go to all this trouble, get me this lovely bracelet, and I end up clumsying all over you."
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "he chuckled as he pulled her into a hug with one arm the other taking their bags and replacing his credit card as he hands her the little styrophoam cup with her slightly cooled tea with its ice in it.~" THere you go sip that maybe it will help you feel better. "~he says softly as he helps lead her forward twoard the front of the resteraunt.~" Nothing to be ashamed of. We were all born clumsy and we will go back to the grave that way..""
Deoridhe lets him lead her out, not wanting to admit how disoriented she feels for the first few steps. After a little while, she starts to get used to the slightly swimmy feeling of her balance. "You're so nice," she says. "How did you end up.... with Remiel?" She swallows several choice descriptors for him; if someone nice like Cirus, and another nice person like Gail, liked Remiel - maybe he had some solid redeeming qualities.
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "he smiled as he opened the door for them helping her down by actualy picking her up somewhat to make sure she didn't fall setting her down carefully in her heels keeping firm hold of her.~" He's a nice guy once you get to know him."~Lie..~" He's rather endearing really. Very lonely. "~another lie.~" I think he may have been one of those children who's mother didn't hug them enough... kicked too many times and not patted enough is what ma ma called it."~he said as he plucked up their things hugging her to them as he began to walk. Least that last part wasn't a lie.~"
Deoridhe stumbles a little when she hits pavement, focusing on walking enough to not realize how much she was leaning on Cirus. "Sounds like you feel sorry for him," she says hesitantly, after a moment, struggling to walk straight. "Well... if you never need any help.... I'll try. I'd hate to see you get hurt," she finishes, earnestly.
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "he pats at her head with a soft smile.~" Remi protects me. I'll be fine little love... now lets get you home before you break something in those heels of yours."~he says with a chuckle as he walks her along to the curb looking this way and that for a taxi.~"
Deoridhe shakes her head. "Must have come on me all the sudden," she admits. She fumbles in her picket for her wallet, squeezes her styrofoam cup of tea too tightly, and the top pops off with a little cry of styrofoamy glee. The next step causes a great tsunami of only slightly colder tea to slosh all over the front of her dress.
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "blinks abruptly as he steps back and sets down the bags quickly kneeling to get napkins seeing the waiter spot them and run out with a towel to help as he helps her clean herself off.~" Oh goodness are you alright cherie?"~he as as he helps clean the mess while the waiter hails them a taxi.~" I should have known better then to leave that with you your not feeling well as is."~He said worriedly.~"
Deoridhe shakes her head, saying in a slightly panicked tone. "Not you fault. Geeeze... I didn't get you, did I?" She sort of holds her dress out from her chest, looking down ruefully at it. "I'll change as soon as I get home," she promises.
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "he nods his head feigning concern quite easily as he immediately does the chivalrous thing to do he plucks her clean up off the ground slowly lifting her up into his arms in a princess carry. Turning as he spots the taxi he bends down and plucks up the bags moving for it. Not missing a beat. He was strong enough to hold her like this easily. MOving twoard the cab.~" I'll be making sure you get to your door. At this rate i'm afraid you'll fall to your death if i set you down."~He said as he slid her into the back of the cab paying and sliding in with her as the waiter hands them their food he sets it to the side and turns to touch her face concernedly.~"
Deoridhe makes a startled sound when she's picked up, then can't help giggling a little. "I'm not that bad, surely," she says, trying to rally her spirits. She's unaware of the bruise on her cheek where the chopsticks struck. "Honestly, I don't know what's wrong with with." A pause, then she gives her address to the taxi driver, not noticing a guy waving down a taxi on the other side of the street.
Cirus Uriel Harlostosiss: "he smiled as he set her in the cab and closed the door leaning against the open window.~" Be safe. "~He says gripping his part of their order still in his hand as he'd left his glass of tea with her and smiles sweetly kissing her cheek softly as he pulls back.~" Be well i hope Ma`cher petite Amour. ~he says with a soft smile pulling back away from the cab waving as it moves to drive off.~"
Deoridhe waves to Cirus, looking appologetic but also tired. She slumps against the seat as they drive off, feeling distinctly lightheaded and pathetic. "First date in months," she mutters. "Only you would screw it up that badly, Zoe."
