Talion Magic hovered in the shadow of the overpass waiting, adjusting his sunglasses in the night air. He checked his watch again and frowned wondering what happened to Q and why he wasn't showing up. He shrugged his shoulders hiking the leather jacket up around his neck more and sauntered off through the streets of another new city. He figured that Q was big enough to take care of himself and he was tired of traveling. He really wanted to find a place he could settle for a bit longer than a few nights. Right now though, first things first. He checked to make sure there was no blood on his leathers and set out to find something to drink.
He walked down the streets looking around mostly to watch for any threats and also to take in the view, remember where things were, how to get around. He hovered a moment outside a place called Fangbangers and read the rules. He frowned not wanting to deal with the local vampires yet but knowing that he'd have to sooner or later. He turned and walked further down the street finally spotting a Cafe on the corner and his friend Misty. He smiled without showing teeth at two girls who were standing out front as they went in. He went in and held the door open for Misty.
Misty looks at the grungy diner and shakes her head "nice place" she grimaces and sighs looking for a napkin, she reaches her hand up unconsciously and rubs the side of her neck looking around for a waitress.
Talion Magic motions the waitress over and asks if htey have heineken and ordering two when he finds out they do. He smiles at Misty and motions his hand for her to order.
Misty looks suprised and smiles sweetly at the waitress, "just coffee for me thanks"
After being served Talion finished a couple beers in the next hour and stretched in the seat, rocking his head around to ease the kinks out of it from sitting so long. He looked at Misty and asked her if she wanted to walk around for a bit. Suggested that she might find some place that had a hiring sign in the window.
Misty Haven smiled, "Lets go check it out."
She had been telling him where apartments for rent where in the area, considering getting one for herself. "Where is this place you heard of?" he asked her.
Misty looks down the street and points "I heard there's an old apartment for rent down here, the guy on the phone said it rented for 200 a week... it's just down this block actually" she turns to cross the street leading the way. She finds the door unlocked and steps in looking around, "it's not... a lot... There's another around the corner I think.
Talion looks around the place, "Pretty tall ceilings too." Something he tended to notice about places since he was usually up closer to them.
Misty looks expectantly at Tal "so... what do you think?"
Talion shrugs and shakes his head to get some of the hair out of his face. "Either one is dangerous. Guess it would be more a matter of how much room you wanted."
Misty looks in her wallet and counts a few small bills "I have enough for at least a week, and a little more in savings, should carry me a month..." lifting her head she looks around "I really need to find a job."
Talion continues to assess the viable danger to each of the places, "The first one has it open to the street and the second one has a dark ally next to it."
Misty nods and frowns "well... it's what I can afford... for now"
He smiles unsure how to answer her. Once there was a time when he felt he needed a house to live in too and figured that soon he'd be looking for a place as well. But unlike her, he had to get permission to stay here. He shrugged and tossed the hair out of his face although it fell right back into place as if he hadn't done so. "If you want to rent the place go ahead. I'm sure you'll find a job here soon."
Misty fidgets her eyes wandering over the basketball court a chill running up her spine she lifts her hands to her arms trying to hug away the chill. She turns to ask him, "Where have you been sleeping lately?"
Talion lowers his gaze to find something on the ground suddenly very interesting, "You really want to know?"
Misty 's eyebrow goes up curious "well now I really want to know.."
Talion Magic sighs. "In the woods nearby"
Misty shakes her head, "jeeze are you serious??!!! is it the money that's an issue?"
His turn to shake his head negatively, "No money isn't an issue at all."
Misty looks confused and shakes her head again "then why the hell would you stay in the woods, there are apartments for rent for cheap.."
Talion Magic stares at her, his eyes swirl funny the air around his body seems to shimmer in the heat, even though the night air is cool and the shades hide his eyes. He suddenly seems a little bigger than he is normally and his look changes from the soft spoken, quick to laugh man she's used to... to something more feral, sinister. Just for a moment or two and then he takes a deep breath and calls his beast back into himself, appearing again like the normal human she keeps deluding herself into thinking he is. "Because I can."
Misty steps back a moment a spooked look in her eyes she instantly plasters her brave smile on her face and nods like what he said was nothing
Talion Magic smiled and shrugged. "At any rate, I have to ask permission to stay here. I have to find someone... until then, I can't stay. Not for long anyway."
Misty nods hesitantly "o... oh... it's a..." she fumbles for the word not wanting to mention it "it's a ... thing? you have to ask to stay in new cities?"
Talion chuckles seeing her grasp some of his world that is so different from her own and yet much the same. "Yes."
Misty scuffs her shoes into the dirty stone ground and perks up "would it be ok if you stayed with me? if I rented a place you would just be... crashing with a friend till you got the OK? right?"
Talion Magic looks around the streets a bit distracted. "I still need to get permission to stay here."
Misty nods trying to see if she can make a loophole for him "oh of course, but you'd just be crashing for a night or so till you get the ok... so that'd be ok right?" she seems to be taking this like it's filling out a form at the DMV
Talion laughs and looks at the ground briefly before looking up to meet her eyes, "It is not that simple really. I should already be searching for this person."
Alexandra Bazylinska sauntered along, her glass-green eyes ever watchful. “Hmm, that’s new,” she murmured, glancing at the little diner. Of course, she only saw the dingy little building for a moment, before her gaze replaced it with a two story, five star cuisine restaurant… Continuing onward, she quickly grew lost in her thoughts. God her wolf was itching to run. Business trips rarely provided an opportunity for such measures, and her energy was subtle in the air, hinting at what she might be.
Misty smiles brightly "yeah ok it's more complicated... but you didn't find him yet so... you can find him tomorrow" she smiles like she's just thought of something clever.
Talion felt the hair on the back of his neck rise as the people in the city moved around them. He knew some of his kind were close and scanned the area he and Misty were talking in to be sure she was safe. He could take care of himself but she could barely balance her checkbook let alone any of the things that might come at them in the night. He saw a woman down at the end of the alley from them and watched her while he explained to Misty that there was someone he had to find in the city first, before he could stay there.
Misty nods and looks around a little "well there are a few other places I wanted to check, I can call you on your cell when I find one?" she smiles trying to let him go off on his own like he's going to go play poker with 'da boys
Talion smiles lopsidely and dips his head toward her. "You got my number and call if you need me, of course. Where you going to stay tonight?"
Misty she shrugs and straightens her shoulders "I'll find a place, I'm a big girl, I'll give you a call when I settle in" turning on her heel she smiles and tosses a wave "go have fun sniffing out your ... whoever"
Talion shakes his head and lets her go figuring if he went after her, he'd just scare her and she already knew enough about the big bad world from her past to at least be a bit careful in her future. "Take care" He mutters after her
Misty walks down the dark alley determined to look brave as she heads down the street.
Alexandra Bazylinska had her arms held loosly at her sides, her eyes taking in everything new and things modified in her absence. Lifting her head towards the sky, she drew in a deep breath. Scent was nearly more important to her than sight, though when the quiet sound of someone moving through the alley greeted her, Alex turned her eyes towards the sound.
Talion Magic approaches the woman at the edge of the basketball court and regards her with acute interest since he can feel her already crawling over his skin. His nostrils flare as he tries to smell her through the other scents assailing his senses in the night. He smiled at her without opening his mouth and nodded. "Evening"
Jared had walked from Fang Bangers instead of taking a cab. He needed the time to process things. The lack of wolves constantly a problem on his mind. He paused at the park, watching the fountain over the rock wall for a few minutes, not really seeing the water. His sheilds were still up so tightly he would appear human, other than to those that knew him.
Alexandra Bazylinska lifted her unusual green eyes to the stranger, her gaze quickly picking up on his movements. “Evening,” she parroted his greeting, offering a polite smile as she brushed her energy against him curiously. What? Cats weren’t the only curious ones, and in a town like Wood Bourne, it often paid to know who… or what… you were dealing with.
Talion Magic looked around the area keenly aware of every movement in the immediate vicinity, he could hear the mice running along the sewer under the street. Also tightly sheilded he did not know this place or these people, he did not trust, he only knew he had to find the Ulfric here.
Talion Magic let her energy wash over him, taking it in almost like a sponge, feeling it letting it tell him as much as it could about her. He stepped closer, interested in anyone who would send out power like this to total strangers, then again perhaps they haven't been through the hell's he's lived through either. He nodded to her politely. "Nice evening, don't you think?" He ventured, taking it slowly until he got her full measure before asking any of the questions he really needed answers to.
Alexandra Bazylinska narrowed her gaze when she gauged his reaction to her power… That he moved closer scarcely bothered her, in fact it intrigued her. Shifter of some flavor, she guessed, letting her wolf’s energy swim in the air around them again, “Lovely,” she nodded, “it’s good to be back.” Her power could clue him in on her species, and her words were telling. She’d been here before, but not in a while… So who was he? A better question, she thought as she rather rudely continued to search his energy, was… what was he?
Talion Magic smiled then, still not showing his teeth, he pushed the mirrored glasses up higher on his nose and ran his fingers through the braid of his beard as he realized she was at least someone who shared the same blood as him. He pushed back just a little with his own power, letting it feather around her lightly, holding it back, not letting her know how much he might have just letting her know that he was a kindred spirit. He shifted his weight and ran his fingers through his hair. "Back? You've been away for a while?" He asked, none of his business actually but he couldn't just come out and ask questions out of the blue. He needed to work into it, gain some kind of common ground. He pulled his power back into himself the cool air followed the heat of it like a wolf after a deer, silent, swift.
Alexandra Bazylinska had never considered it rude to push the boundaries of polite society. But when wolf recognized wolf she stilled, her energy motionless as considering eyes studied him. It had been much too long since she’d been around the pack, or wolves in general, and her first reaction would have been to move closer. Alexandra found herself doing just that, and she had taken three steps closer to him when she paused again, “I’ve been away,” she acknowledged, “business.” Her voice carried a hint of foreign accent, and a small frown painted her features when she realized she had not only responded, but responded with the truth. She shivered in the aftermath of the touch of his power, pulling her own back around herself as if it were a blanket. New wolves… or wolf… She wondered just how much had changed in the last month...
Talion Magic watched her move, his eyes taking in every nuance, every step, the way she pulled her energy back leaving his skin tingling lightly, it had been so long since he'd felt the energy of another wolf. He took a slow deep breath and looked up and down the street noticcing there were people on the next block. He frowned but most of his eyes and face were hidden behind the large aviator glasses. He wondered how long she had been away and if her knowledge of the pack was up to date or not. He stepped a step toward her, her scent and perfume overwhelming him. "Where you heading somewhere or just standing on the street corner?" He figured perhaps she was going someplace he might be able to find out more of the information he needed.
Alexandra Bazylinska let her gaze stray to where his own had, down the street… Oh yay… the Ulfric and his spast-a-kitty mate. She really needed to let Jared know she was back in town… Especially after not exactly informing him that she was leaving town for an undisclosed amount of time. When he stepped closer, her gaze flew back to his own that was so hidden, “I don’t frequent the street corners, if you were looking for a female that was,” she said, with a snarky smile. She wasn’t sure she wanted to go speak to Jared while the lioness was with him anyway.
Talion Magic laughed hard for a moment. He looked at her and sobered up not wanting to insult her. "I did not mean it that way, and I would not have to look for companionship on street corners usually. I guess I was not being clear on offering to walk with you if you didn't mind, to where you were going." He glanced down the street again and back at her, "I have business here though. Someone I need to find. I should probably find them. Do you know who I can speak to about business?" He lowered his voice still unsure about this place, they did not see what happened to the pack he was in before. "Do you know where I can find the Ulfric here?"
Alexandra’s snarky smile softened fractionally and she nodded, conceding the apology as it was and adding her own quiet laughter for a moment. She wasn’t all too surprised by his words, but she was wary about leading an unknown male to the Ulfric. “We’re going to greet the same man, then,” she finally spoke, filling the silence that she’d let spread as she weighed the pros and cons. Finally, she decided that greeting Jared and letting him know she was back outweighed the negatives of interrupting his evening. Sighing, her power hummed softly in the air again, “Feel free to tag along,” she murmured and turned to walk towards Jared.
Talion followed her down the street, "Thank you" ,he said behind her as his eyes admired the curve of her hips and the length of her legs. He shook his head and snapped himself back to his usual wary state, wouldn't do to be lost in the hips of the woman in front of him and have the Ulfric's Freki and Geri come out and surprise him. He didn't survive what he had to die now by being stupid. He pulled his power into himself tightly. The sheild long practiced and necessary where he was from. He was hyper alert. Waiting for the worst... hoping for the best.
Jared 's eyebrows started rising slowly as she explained everything that had happened while he had been gone, and when they couldn't rise any longer, his jaw started to drop. Then he suddenly frowned at her last question and sighed. "He.. straddled you? Slept with Gage's.. wife? With Rhage? And Gage hasn't killed him yet? Jesus..." What had really been going on while he had been gone? answer. a HELL of a lot! He pulled her against him fully, wrapping his arms around her and kissing her forehead. "HOw is Rhage handling all of this... and how are the.." He stopped turning his head as Alex approached, followed by someone else he didn't know.
Talion Magic moved up along side her when she stopped. He was unsure of her rank in the pack and wanted to show that he would not stand behind her but until he knew her place he was not yet ready to stand in front of her. He waited for the Ulfric to finish his business. He kept his hands out in the open and tried to appear as relaxed as possible.
Alexandra Bazylinska didn’t bother to hide the quiet hum of her power as she walked towards Jared, and she found it interesting that the male behind her did. That held little importance though, she thought, as she walked up to the pair, catching a few snippets of conversation before Jared turned to glance at her. Alexandra didn’t break stride until she neared the Ulfric, pausing to nod to Serenity. Alex stood to the side, unwilling to dare suggest Jared turn from Ser to greet her. She could be patient.
Serenity fairly snickered at the wide range of facial expressions on her mate’s face, listening to his long list of questions and answering them all in the same rush that was typical Ser, “Yes, straddled…not sure just yet if slept with actually meant…well, you know…SLEPT with. No Gage hasn’t killed him, he came close but I helped to calm him down and he left instead, probably to go beat his chest in the forest or whatever you men do when your Pride is hurt and a woman doesn’t allow you to beat in someone’s face.” She allowed a soft purr to escape her lips as he tugged her to him, kissing her forehead. She’d respond by slowly sliding her hands up his shirt to feel the warmth of his skin, tilting her head back to nuzzle her cheek against his chin gently…she’d missed him terribly. “Rhage is…well…Rhage, wants to kick ass but is being surprisingly diplomatic….how are the what exactly?” She questioned when he trailed off though her white blue orbs slid to the reasoning….Alex…and the male from the alley. Huh. Immediately a small spark of annoyance lit her eyes up as she stayed leaning against her mate, gaze raking over the two before them. Her energy was leashed tightly to herself right now, so Ser decided to play…she allowed just a bit of her wolf to slide out and swirl around them, waiting to see what the other woman would do. She hadn’t realized just yet that Jared hadn’t answered her own questions."
Jared couldn't help but smile at Ser's bantering about what she thought men did when women were not around. His arms loosened around her as he nodded to the man, then smiled at Alex. "Alex... How have you been?" He began shifting Ser to his side, one arm still wrapped around her waist.
Misty Haven dials Tal's cell and gets his voice mail "I found a place, there was a deal if you rent for 4 weeks you get a discount... anyway it's way nicer than the other places... it's down elm street across from the shops and hospital, 4th floor apartment 4C" she hears the beep cutting her off... damnit never enough time to leave messages.
Talion Magic shifted on his feet embracing the woman's power, almost wrapping himself up in it if simply standing there and soaking it in could be described that way. He tilted his head and guessed she was the Lupa so he sent out a tendril of his own power to rub and slide over hers a bit before pulling it back into himeself again. He looked at the Ulfric and waited to be acknowledged rather than confront and ignored the buzz in his pocket from his cell phone.
Alexandra Bazylinska managed to keep a lovely blank expression on her face throughout Serenity’s rambling comments that made absolutely no sense to her at all. It was hard to miss the look of annoyance on the lioness’s face though, and Alex couldn’t suppress a moment of confusion when she felt wolf from the other woman. Since when was Serenity a wolf? All that compressed oxygen in the plane had to be getting to her head. Yeah. That was it. Or maybe that was her wolf’s way of saying we were going insane if she didn’t get to run soon? Umhmm.. that could be it too. Jared’s words shook her out of her scatterbrained thoughts and Alexandra closed the distance between them, her energy brushing against both Jared and Serenity, like greeting like even if her mind refused to acknowledge the woman as such for now. She brushed her hair to the side and leaned close to Jared, brushing her cheek across his and burying her nose at the base of his hairline and breathing the familiar scent of wolf deeply. “Ulfric,” she murmured, stepping back after their greeting, “I am well, thank you. And how do you do?”
Serenity almost pouted when Jared pulled her to his side, her hands sliding off of the warmth of his skin beneath his shirt regretfully as her white blue gaze inspected the new male, head tilted at an inquisitive angle as her wolf pressed more against Alex, singling her out…though the tendril of energy from the male made her grin as she pushed her lioness out, the more dominant power of the two. She only wished she were Lupa to Jared’s Ulfric. Her pretty odd colored orbs narrowed only slightly as Alex stepped up close to them, her energy swirling around them as she greeted her Ulfric. “Hello again Alex.” Ser murmured politely so that Jared wouldn’t reprimand her for being rude, she’d also nod to the male, her lioness and wolf both swirling around now uncaring of who knew…
Talion Magic eyes widened as the feline power feathered around him, he rubbed against it, testing it, experiencing it. He narrowed his eyes and looked harder at the woman and wondered if it was harder for her to contain her beasts being more than one. He figured he'd have time to examine that more later, first there was more important things to do and his attention sucked back into himself and focused on the Ulfric.
Jared turned his head into her hair, taking in her scent as she greeted him, but the arm around Ser's waist tightened in warning, She was playing with them both and he didn't have a lion nearby to take that one if she got out of hand. After the greeting he turned toward the male "Busy as always Alex... Who is your friend?"
Alexandra Bazylinska nodded to Serenity, ignoring the feline counterpart and focusing on wolf. Well, well, well… that was certainly an interesting development. Geez, had she really been away that long? Though, in retrospect, Alex had been away for quite a while. She really needed to find a new contractor that could manage on his own without someone standing over directing him. Maybe then she would be able to spend the time in Wood Bourne that she’d originally intended on. When Jared asked about the male, Alex turned to glance at him, “I am not entirely certain,” she said, frowning at him. She didn’t even know the guy’s name, “he was headed to meet the same person I was though,” she turned to Talion, watching curiously. She wouldn't move too far from the Ulfric though...
Serenity stared back at the new male as he stared at her, so she winked playfully before tilting her head towards her mate as he squeezed her in warning. She pouted ever so softly and sucked all of her energy back into herself, locking both beasts in their cages completely…now the area was devoid of her energy as if it had never been there to begin with. Her eyebrow raised at Alex’s mention of not knowing who the strange male was that followed her…odd…and she was tempted to ask her if she always led strange men around, though she held her tongue…she –knew- she’d get into trouble for that one. The panwere opted to stay silent, though she was forming questions in her mind for Jared to answer later when they were alone…he’d not get away that easily again.
Talion Magic reached up and removed his glasses, something that they would not realize as being rare for him. His clear silver wolven eyes regarded them with detached calm but deeper in them was the swirl of controlled power. He dipped his head in respect to the Ulfric, "I am Talion Magic. I am new here and seek to stay if it is allowed." He stepped forward brushing his hair off his neck and brushing his cheek to the side of the Ulfric's. He held still, a moment giving the time to rip his throat should the Ulfric feel so inclined and then stepped back between the women. His eyes got a strange tint of pain in them as he explained why he was here briefly. "My pack is gone. I have been traveling across the country. I am tired of constantly being on the move."
Jared quirked a brow that Alex didn't know him, but nodded when he introduced himself paying attention to more than what he said, but the smallest nuances of how he moved, the look in the revealed eyes. He took time taking in his scent, memorizing it until he stepped back. Nodding slowly "More wolves are always welcome.. but I have to ask.. Why here?"
Alexandra Bazylinska stayed quiet for the most part, listening here and there. The woods were sooo close, and the scent of wolves was utterly tempting. She maneuvered around the sidewalk, glancing fleetingly in the direction of the woods. At the first opportunity, she planned on continuing that way.
Talion Magic took a moment to answer, formulating the right answers without revealing over much in his mind first. "My pack was in California. I have been traveling for some time now. I have a traveling companion who has his own business here so I came with him." He looked around the area. "It seems..." He searched for the right words. "It seems as good a place as any and if my traveling companion stays I have a few friends here."
Serenity watched Alex closely, ignoring the male for the time being as the other woman moved to her side. She tensed lightly, leaning into Jared as her glacier blue eyes watched her warily. She still did not know this woman, and Ser still worried about a female wolf being in town…a full wolf…not the half, fake wolf that she considered herself to be. Ser’s energy stayed locked tightly within herself as she half listened to the male speak, and half zoned out…this was pack business and it didn’t concern her…Jared hadn’t brought her into the pack yet.
Jared tore his eyes away from Talion for a second to Alex, nodding to her to go ahead if she wanted to run before looking back at Talion again. "I know what that is like. I believe Lanier, my Freki, has already went back to the pack house for the night. If you want you can meet her tomorrow, unless you don't have a place to stay?" It was an offer to stay with the pack if he wanted, but not everyone opted for that.
Talion Magic lowered his head slightly, respectfully. "Thank you, I have a friend who rented an apartment in town who I am staying with for now. Should the pack get to know me better perhaps I will move there later."
Alexandra Bazylinska gave Jared a wide grin and turned away from them, walking towards the woods. Her hands were already toying with the laces of her corset and tucking bracelets in pockets. By the time she reached the edge of town, she was jogging… A night run would be fabulous…
Serenity continued to stay silent. She didn’t have to contribute, though a look of envy was so stark on her face that anyone could read it as she watched Alex lope off for the woods…it had been two months since Ser had shifted and run as her lioness. Her hand slid across her slightly bumped out belly with a soft, fleeting sigh, it wasn’t the child’s fault…but Ser missed running, her beasts were always so damn cranky now.
Jared nodded "Always your choice. Will others be following you then?" A subtle way of asking if he was being followed by anything bad, or good, other than the ones he had mentioned. He smiled as Alex took off down the street, then glanced to Ser when she touched her belly, his fingers tightening slightly on her hip. "I'm Jared Jon Stone by the way. I just realized my manners are rather lacking tonight."
Talion Magic replaced his glasses covering the strange eyes and the scar that marked his face under one of them. "If you should need me," He pulled a somewhat crumpled business card out of his coat pocket and handed it to Jared. It read, Talion Magic, Manager; Sinful Magic, Gentleman's Club, and a phone number that indicated it was his cell phone number. "I don't work there any more but the number is correct." He tipped his head at Jared acknowledging his name. Good to meet you." He looked at the woman next to him and her condition briefly before looking back at Jared. "I will leave you to your pleasure now. It has been a long day for me and I have some business to finish before the dawn." He heard the question. "There are a few humans who have been following me. They are around. Everyone else thinks I'm dead."
Jared took the card and slipped it into his back pocket with his broken phone. "Have a nice night Talion.. Welcome to the pack." He actually sounded rather happy about it, but that happiness was guarded by his wondering if this was just temporary like the others had been. "I think Ser and I should get some rest too. "
Serenity turned her attention back to her mate, hugging him lightly as she glanced to the male saying rather late, “I’m Serenity…” No last name, she typically didn’t give it out…neither did her twin for that matter. She was lost in her own thoughts at the moment and kind of out of it, though she nodded to Jared’s statement.
Talion Magic nodded and then turned to the woman smiling at her. "Nice to meet you Serenity." the lack of a lst name was not lost on him but he really did not care much what it was anyway. "I will be better tomorrow I am just tired tonight, it has been a long day. Good night." He turned on his heal offering them his back and sauntered off down the street checking the text left on his cell phone regarding the address that Misty sent him of the new apartment.
He walked down the streets looking around mostly to watch for any threats and also to take in the view, remember where things were, how to get around. He hovered a moment outside a place called Fangbangers and read the rules. He frowned not wanting to deal with the local vampires yet but knowing that he'd have to sooner or later.
