Asher sat on the end of the bed, legs crossed Indian style, his eyes flitting from the clock, to the door, to the TV every so often. He had cleaned the apartment from floor to ceiling, even using his nails on the little paint flecks he found not realizing some of them might actually be part of the art on the walls. He had even cooked! It wasn't his best, not that he had been any good at cooking much or fancy stuff, but the pot roast was easy, it had come in one of those packages with everything in it. So the house was clean, smelled of food, and Asher sat, motionless other than his head turning, and silent, other than the ticking of a clock, the soft sound of the TV, and his stomach rumbling. Did I mention he also arranged the CD's and videos.. Alphabetically?
Adrik: "Stretched and rubbed the back of his neck. He was slightly tipsy, nothing embarrassing but his breath probably smelled of liqueur. He had a nice 5-o'clock coming in by now and was returning with groceries..and a surprise..that he hoped he didn't get laughed at for, for being cheesy. He knocked on the door twice...just so Asher would know someone was there fluttered the key in before pausing in his...spotless house? "........." His spray cans were arranged too..and paint brushes. "You've been either very busy or very boar---" And then he was purring...bags slumped to the ground and he was pouncing Asher to nuzzle his neck and squish him in a hug. "You made fooooood""
Asher 's head jerked toward the door at the knock, his back straightening, then suddenly he felt silly "I... didn't know what ---" Squeak chirped loudly being pounced and falling back on the bed and couldn't breathe! But he managed to wrap his arms, mostly, around Adrik, returning the hug. "You didn't tell me what to do... so I" gasped for air "Cleaned and thought you might like a.." Gasp squeak" roast... ?"
Adrik: Nuzzled and nipped and patted affectionately. "Roooooast." He moan whined. "We should eat it!" But he paused at 'Tell me what to do'. "Hm? What do you mean?" He blinked. "You don't work at home Ash...you can do what you want to here...although.." He pointed to the left wall. "That was actually supposed to be painted." He chuckled. "Did you like the candy?" And with that thought. "Oh! I got you something..but after we eat..because I think both our stomachs are rather pissed..""
Asher squeaked and wriggled, but he didn't smile, then he stopped and blinked up at Adrik. "I wanted to thank you... and... " He looked to the wall, his eyes going wide with horror. He had destroyed one of his artworks! It couldn't be replaced, not ever, and he knew that, biting his bottom lip and ducking his head, then confusion. He wasn't mad about it? Nodding slowly then another quick blink of aquamarine eyes. "Okay... Sensei."
Adrik: ""Hey..Gataki.." Easing up on Asher he gave them a bit of space but his hands gently cupped either side of Asher's face. "Look at me? Please?" He waited..."I appreciate it..everything. But you don't 'have' to do everything or anything. Your allowed to choices here..I'm not sure..the life style you want, what you like or don't like, but that's something we can talk about." He swiped thumbs under Asher's eyes to clear the tears. "And the wall? It's art..it changes..that's the good thing about it. I redo the walls all the time. There's only one piece of art I own I wouldn't change and it isn't on a wall where anything could happen to it. I told you, I'm not going to hurt you, and certainly not because you made a mistake when you were trying to do something sweet for me.""
Asher swallowed, blinking his eyes up at Adrik listening to him and nodding slowly as much as his hands would allow. "Gataki.... what is that?" He had heard him call him that several times already and hadn't asked, till now. "I did it because I wanted to... for you Sensei." He called him Sensei because that is what he was to him, in the old sense, not the more modern.
Adrik: "Patted the smooth skin of Asher's face, then kissed each cheek once and dropped his hands. "Kitten." The smile didn't fade as he wiggled Asher's ears and kissed his forehead. "I thought it was cute. I could call you Agapa, or oraios..maybe glykys?" Dropping his hands to Asher's he started off the bed and gave a small tug. "Well thank you. You did a very good job." And a playfully offered wink. "I just hope you didn't move my underwear.""
Asher scrunched his face up and wiggled with each tweak and the kisses made him blush. "Do all of those mean kitten?" He slid off the bed after him then stopped cold in his tracks, glancing nervously toward the dresser. "I... uhmm... heh..." He looked back to Adrik apologetically before skittering into the kitchen to start serving up the roast, cutting it in half, or he was going to until he used the tongs to pull it from the pot and it fell in pieces.
Adrik: ""No, Agapa is Love, or oraios means handsome, and glykys is cute or cutie." He grinned at the remembrance of chirps and squeaks. "I could call you titibizo..chirp." But when Asher flushed and took off like a bat out of hell he laughed hysterically. "Why didn't you go out and enjoy yourself? What do you like to do? Interests? Hobbies?" And then food was dropped in his plate...and made a strange sound in the back of his throat. One clearly not human before HE gave an apologetic look. "Go on and eat."
Asher blushed and blushed and blushed harder with each definition, really wishing he either didn't blush so much or he hadn't asked. "But I'm no..." He split the mutilated roast between the two plates, equally, glancing over his shoulder at the odd sound that vibrated along his spine, sending warning signals and something else. Turning around he handed Adrik his plate and took his in to eat. "I don't know... I used to read comic books, but then they were too childish, I wanted to try skateboarding, but my parents were afraid I would fall and break something and then my... " He stopped and quickly shoved apiece of meat on his mouth, chewing and thinking. "I was really good with computers..."
Adrik: "Just sat with his cheek in his hand as he watched Asher. "You really are a cutie...Gataki." It was his own turn to blush when Asher look at him curiously. "Sorry about that Uh.." He tried to think on how to explain. "I have control over my beast...but he doesn't always let me get my way without a fight." It was the best explanation he could give..."Why are comic books childish? If you like them you should read them. They have a comic book store in town you know. We can go look at them when ever you want and pick some up. As for skateboarding..THAT I can show you..I cant help you with computers at all.." He'd deliberately been the black sheep in the family and slept during that class. "I do own a laptop, but there's nothing on it but games." He itched the back of his neck and stared at the fork a bit oddly. "I'm not really good with that kind of thing..but your welcome to use it. I usually keep it next to the WII under the bed." He didn't miss the left out word...but he wasn't going to hard press Asher about it."
Asher frowned "So you.. fight.. yourself?" He shook his head at the comic books though, and the skateboarding. It was obvious he'd never been a very physical kid. But at the computer his eyes lit up for a second then fell again. "I'm not allowed to use one until...." He was looking down at his plate then he blinked looking back up at him wide eyed. "... I turn.. twenty-one!" He bit his lip at the excitement that welled up in him to be able to touch a computer since he was sixteen and very.. very stupid. He finished his food in record time, and had the plate in the sink, rinsed off. It wasn't a few seconds later that his head was under the bed, rear in the air while he dug for the computer.
Adrik: ""On occasion." He admitted. "But it comes with the territory I think." He chuckled. "And really, I could-" And then there was squeeing and high pitched noises he only did if he was kicked in the nads...someone was either very hurt or very happy! He'd gotten fork to his mouth intime to see Asher inhaling food like a black hole and poking his nose under the bed. Adrik fell off his chair in loud THUD followed by the swooshy swooosh of him rolling on the floor and thump thump of thrashing limbs as he laughed in hysterics at the enthusiasm"
Nikki And so here she was. Nikki frowned, wishing she had gotten more sleep the night before. The hotel had been nice enough, but she hated new places. Sure made sense as to why she was in them constantly. It was darker than she had expected but hell, life was dark and she was just mulling through it. After Orleans's drama she was due for yet another fresh start. Sighing, she hefted the bag over her shoulder again, hunched them inwards, tucked her chin into her chest and started down the street. She figured a record store could entertain her, but what she found instead was a curious shop. Poking her face against the glass, she peered in and shook her head. A recovering addict, there was no way she was making her way in there. Nikki had an addictive nature. Turning, she was about to move away when her foot caught on the sidewalk and she went stumbling forward, then backward into the window. Hitting against it with a small thud, she squeaked and clung to the wall before falling on her ass. "Fucking great...." She muttered to herself, testing her ankle as she stood slowly. The tinge of pain shot up her calf and she muttered another choice stream of curses under her breath.
Asher pulled the laptop out from under the bed, completely transfixed on the machine in his hands "So pretty..." It was black and shiny and... a computer! He heard Adrik laughing his ass off on the floor but ignored him. He got to play with a computer... He quickly flipped the machine over and checked the specs on the little sticker, reading it out loud in awe before he had the thing on the bed, himself flopped onto his stomach and was pulling it open and turning it on. he waited about fourteen seconds, before frowning. "When was the last time you defragged this thing? Anti-virus? What about a total reformatting and reprocessing of the internal dynamics?" Once it was booted up he was clicking a few keys and suddenly his fingers were flying across the keys. not shifter fast, but close, his eyes wide and on the screen then narrowing before he made a chirp. He had gotten the computer to start scanning for viruses, followed by a full defrag and then.. after.. he was going to go into the data base and rework the programming completely. He sighed while he waited for the anti virus software to scan the thing, still his eyes on the screen and fingers playing over the keys, not pressing, but simply feeling them."
Adrik: "Stopped laughing almost instantly. That was not Greek...and it wasn't Italian or Spanish either...he knew those too. "Ash? What language are you speaking in?" Sad part...he was 80 percent serious. "Um..a whats a who....with a what now?" Blink...blink-blink. "Virus scan..a year ago? I think the protections good for a year?" Maybe..."Uh.." He laughed again. "It's yours. You debug the sassafras and boot the booty however you like." Shaking his head he sat up and inhaled his own food...and was literally licking the plate clean when he heard a BOOM FUCK....and boom fucks were rare around here. "Hmm..I'm gonna go see if there's anything broken." And it it was the window on his door or something in the Hooka house."
Nikki pressed one hand to the rough wall and leaned there as she reached for her ankle with the other hand. Turning it slowly, she winced around the pain and worked it out enough she could lower her sneakered foot to the ground gingerly. Pushing her blonde hair from her face, blue eyes lifted warily towards the street. How far back to her hotel room and really? Really did she want to get stuck in her hotel room for the day? It was her glancing around that caught the figure inside the building. Shit. Not exactly wanting to attract attention she gave a brief apologetic look to the male and started to limp passed him. "Just...yeah you should watch your wall there...fucking lawsuit waiting to happen." Nodding behind her to the wall, as if it had jumped out and attacked her. As if she would ever admit to being clumsy
Asher jerked his head away at the cursing and thumping down below, his eyes widening a bit before glancing to Adrik. "Uh... you sure?" then slowly he nodded, still too giddy about the fact that he was able to TOUCH a computer for the first time since he was sixteen. He turned back to the screen and watched while it got halfway with the anti-virus and stopped. HARD. His fingers reached out, tapping the keys again and away the thing went. Already 14 viruses. He blinked. "Damn..."
Adrik: ""It'll be alright." And once actually down stairs he glanced at the door and blinked, "Well.." He offered her a slow lopsided little grin. "Most people don't attack our walls first. He was only defending himself.""
Nikki was rarely so clumsy, but maybe it was just darker along this street and she had forgotten these sneakers come untied really easily. But whatever, she was really good at blaming everything else for her misfortunes and it just so happened, tonight, it was the damn walls fault. The male's quick retort made her blink and she couldn't tell if he was joking or serious. Glancing over her shoulder to the wall and back to him she frowned. "I didn't touch the damn thing...it just ..." Alright, where are you going with this Nikki? Her inner dialogue halted her sentence and she shrugged. "Yeah well...its my word against...it."
Asher blinked at the screen again, trying to keep his eyes open. It was flashing that there were forty-two viruses and three Trojans, not to mention about a gazillion cookies. "Where did all these come from...?" He wondered aloud, clicking a link that brought up the browser and website. His eyes got wider and wider before he chirped, loudly and quickly closed the browser. He hadn't expected to see THAT on the computer.. well he had just.. hadn't expected to SEE it. He sat there blinking at the screen for a few minutes before rummaging around in his bag at the foot of the bed for a pad of paper and pen, scribbling all the info down about the viruses and stuff. he killed all of them with a few keystrokes then started the defrag rubbing his eyes. it didn't take long for his head to start falling forward, it had been a busy day for him, his eyes drooping shut.
Adrik: ""Oh yeah? Well he says you beat him up with something pink and squishy." He looked over her body then paused seeing a red mark on her ankle that looked ready to bruise. "Ha! Proof!" He chimed..then paused as his head tipped back to look at the ceiling. "Damn?" He asked....he was actually pretty sure Asher could hear him..even if just a little. "What?" He blushed. "I did a few pictures for a couple magazines for fitness...um..I ah..and then when I loaded them other stuff popped up and ah..w-well it all went away.." Until now.."
Nikki was doing great here, tripped over a wall, twisted her ankle, and now she was debating the blame of the inanimate object for the whole debacle with a stranger. Yep, great way to start the day. Using her toe, she kept her balance loaded to her left leg and managed not to fall over. And why did the wall have to be a He? Okay, she was argumentative. It happened. At least she wasn't boring! After a minute, she lowered her fingers to her ankle and hoped the dude was not paying much attention. Focusing a minute, her hand warmed and she imagined the muscles strengthening and inflamed muscle relaxing. The energy was small, hardly noticeable to most humans and she grinned, feeling the ankle's pain slide away slowly. Lowering her foot, she smirked at herself and set it on the ground fully. "Just a kink anyway..." Like he was lucky it was! He pointed and she looked down, the bruise gone and she blinked at him. "Proof? Where?" And then he was yelling up the steps. Well, time to make her get away. "Anyway, just watch it man...I might come back with the law..." Her fingers touched her eyes, then moved to him as if to say she was keeping her eyes on him and his crazy wall.
Asher What he had seen had soooo NOT been catalog images.. nor had they been of Adrik either. He blushed drowsily, snuggling his face down into his arms while he waited for the computer to finish defragging. Within moments he was asleep, his eyes closed but his face was still staring at the screen.
Adrik: "Stretched and rubbed the back of his neck. He was slightly tipsy, nothing embarrassing but his breath probably smelled of liqueur.
