Sarah Jenkins walked back to the pride house and paused, looking at one of the empty houses along the way. Thinking about it a moment before deciding. Making her way along the road again, her mind made up she stops at the tree. Jaded and Gage were alone in the pride house... she didn't want to disturb them. They needed their time alone together.
Sarah Jenkins Climbing the tree quickly she curled up along a branch, quickly falling asleep tot he swaying of the branches, the rustle of the leaves as the wind went through them. She stayed curled up there asleep for a few hours, just before dawn however she stirred, another dream invading her. Slowly she stretched and moved, languidly she slid down from the tree, her eyes open and yet unseeing as she moved in her dream towards the pack house.
Her bare feet silent on the grass as she crouched down, opening the cellar doors and slipping down below. She moved slowly at first, her hand automatically going to the secret stone, pressing it and waiting for the door to open enough to slip through, absently hitting the one inside to close it before moving through the twists and turns of the catacombs. Her dream filled with each turn, a knowledge that she was moving towards something, though she did not know what.
Sarah Jenkins's leopard growled inside her, urging her on as her bare feet padded on the smooth stone steps faster, more sure of herself in her dream. The barest flicker of fear ran through her, of being enclosed, as she came to a wall, pressing another stone, the wall sliding away as she moved deeper into the dark catacombs. Her hands trailed idly on the walls, fingers tracing the seams between the stones as she moved on.
Her wolf growled, another urge, they were both so expectant, eager to reach the end. She was almost running now as she triggered another secret door around a corner, revealing the dark red curtains, this door closed automatically behind her. Pushing the heavy velvet drapes aside, her leopard purring softly within her as it brushed against her skin. The fire was lit, ready and waiting in the dream. Her unseeing eyes did not need it's light, her feverish body it's heat as she slowly moved into the room, the smooth hard wood cool against the soles of her feet going unnoticed.
Her fingers ran lightly over the couch before she sat, drawing her knees to her chest, her arms wrapping around them, chin resting on her knees as dawn broke over the horizon. Her head tipped to the side in the darkness, eyes slowly closing, the dream fading from her mind. Her head shifted on the couch slightly in her sleep, her legs relaxing slightly as she drifted deeper into sleep, her arms resting gently on her stomach, her breathing even as she fell into a dreamless sleep, the first one she had had in months without the drugs. She slept the day away, and well past the sun setting, she had finally arrived at the place her dreams had been drawing her to....
Vampires do not dream because they do not sleep. Life leaves them when the sun sets. It's a painful departure each night, feeling an already alarmingly slow heartbeat stop and the body seize up, the soul leaving the mortal coil. Thus, there is no dream for the spirit is gone, flown into the sun until night returns.
He gasped an hour before the sun set. Ra always awakened at that time and in that way. A rush of air drawn reflexively into dead lungs, the soul and awareness returning with the onset of night. He lay there upon his bed, letting his body remember how to move and feel again. As he did so he listened. He listened to the room around him and to the whispering noise in his head of all the vampires that were bound to him. On this night though, he felt another presence, a welcome presence that he had hoped would return.
Rising and pulling a black velvet robe about himself, he silently paced into the darkness of the catacombs beyond his private sanctum. As he drew nearer to the main room where he and his people lounged at times, her heartbeat grew stronger within his senses. He could smell her on the slight breeze that moved through the stone halls. Eventually, he came to stand beside the couch upon which she slept, watching her, listening to the sound of breath exhaled, inhaled.
Softly he spoke, a warm tendril of power laced through the words, filled with memory of their shared moments, their shared bond, "Mera azeez....wake up....." He used neither her birth nor chosen name, relying on the endearment he'd given her to hopefully touch her own memory softly, even as his fingertips brushed a stray strand of hair from her forehead.
Sarah's breath escaped lightly from her lips, a soft sigh, her head tipping towards his hand as it moved tot he side of her face in the simple movement. Her glasses were gone, her clothes stiff from the earlier swim. Her eyelashes fluttered as she slowly began to wake.
He watched her carefully, but his face remained open and welcome, his body relaxed. However, unseen, his power called softly to wolf and leopard. He called them as he would call friends that had been missed. Slowly, he knelt beside the couch so that his face was more on a level with her own. The deep warm rumble of his voice purred again, "Mera azeez...welcome home." His fingers continued to touch her, tracing light circles over her cheek. The tendril of power that wrapped around them both also echoed the passion that was shared the night he deflowered her, willing her to remember.
Her leopard purred, her wolf whined, they recognized him. Her eyelids fluttered again before snapping open, her dual tone eyes meeting his, her body instantly tensing as a spike of fear ran through her. A soft frown started to form between her light brows.
He remained still when she awoke, neither moving backward nor forward. Smiling slowly, no fang visible, letting it reach his dark eyes, he spoke softly, "It's alright...you are safe here. The wolf and the leopard know this, listen to them.....they know me." Quietly and relaxed, he shifted backward until he was resting on his bent knees and feet. His hands moved to settle upon his lap, watching her. "Look around, does this place seem familiar to you? It should." His next words were chosen carefully, "You and I...have spoken often within these walls." Always, his tone never changed, remaining quiet and warm. Always, that gentle tendril of power coiled around them both.
Sarah slowly moved, pulling her knees back up to her chest, arms wrapping around them as her eyes moved around the room. "I... dream about this place... the tunnels." She looked at him and frowned, opening her mouth to continue, but closed it. Her beasts were calm with him, wanted her to reach out and touch him, but she hesitated.
His smile remained, head tilting to the side, "That is because...you know this place. There are good memories here." He could feel the leopard and the wolf, leaning to him. He brushed them with his energy, caressing them like an invisible hand, fingers scruffing through fur, smoothing over sleek spots. "What do the other pieces of yourself wish to do? I am no threat to you and it pains me that someone has convinced you that I am."
Sarah shivered, closing her eyes for a moment before whispering "They like you.. know you..." She shook her head quickly, frowning "I was attacked..." She looked at him, her mind starting to spin slightly as she thought of the pictures she had seen, her green eye slitting as she focused on him.
"Pictures?" said with a frown, feeling the buzz of confusion within her. "Let me tell you about Lerochelle." He shifted slowly until he was sitting cross-legged on the floor. "She was dear to me, my animal to call, my friend. One day she boarded a plane to take care of some business, but she disappeared. With Aydryan's help, we tracked the plane to Utah, but the trail went cold then. She has been lost to us for six month's. We never stopped searching for her. We never stopped searching for you." He wanted to touch her, but kept his hands still within his lap, but he could not stop his power from calling to the beasts, wanting them to hear the truth, wanting them to tell their human part that what he spoke was truth.
Sarah Jenkins frowned hard as she whispered softly "I know..." almost a pained expression came to her face "They said I was attacked... I saw the pictures... hell I still have them..." She already knew, now she was convinced she had been Lerochelle. Her beasts reaction to him was enough but, still the hesitation was there, trying to break past a wall in her own mind she didn't see.
Rameaus Renard lifted his hand, palm up and extended it to her, "Had I been able to find you....I would have protected you and....punished those that harmed you. Perhaps, in time...that may still happen." He continued to wrap his power around them both, cocooning them in the warmth of it. The scent of myrrh and desert wind slowly surrounded them.
Sarah Jenkins looked at his hand then met his eyes "I know I.. was Lerochelle... I KNOW it... I just don't remember..." her hand moved from around her leg to his, a slight tremble to her fingers as they slide along his fingers.
Though his touch was cool, it was firm and supportive, gentle yet strong as he curled his fingers around hers. He lifted her hand and brushed his lips across the back of his knuckles, smiling quietly, "It is too bad that you cannot remember the times between us." When he looked up at her again, there was a dark glow deep in his eyes.
Sarah Jenkins slowly uncurled herself turning to face him, her beasts trusted him. She took a deep breath, closing her eyes a moment while she tried sorting from what she had been told and what she had seen, felt. Opening her eyes she looked at him her voice soft, hesitant as she spoke "If.. I... let you into my mind... can you find my memories?"
Rameaus Renard: "I can try. It shouldn't hurt you, that I'm aware of." He shifted once more to face her more squarely, "But...what if there are things within that you do not wish to remember?" This was an honest concern for her.
Sarah Jenkins chews her bottom lip a bit, looking to his hand on hers "I don't care anymore... everyone sees me as Chelle returned... I.. just don't want to lose who I am right now either." she looked up, meeting his eyes again "I am Sarah... I know I was Lerochelle... bad shit happens.. we get over it."
Rameaus Renard rose on his knees slowly, taking his hand from hers so that he could cradle her face instead, "I will be careful, Sarah." The dark glow in his eyes grew as he tiled her face, urging her to meet his gaze. When she did, he would flow into her mind like a warm breeze until she felt light, weightless.
Sarah Jenkins gasped softly, her shields dropping for him before her body relaxed, she felt herself falling into his eyes and reached out slowly to catch herself, her hands finding his chest.
Rameaus Renard brought her with him onto the floor, keeping her close. His mind wrapped hers within soothing warmth and he brought her leopard and wolf to lay with her beneath the bright and gentle sun. The sound of shifting sand surrounded her, singing its ethereal song. While he cocooned her, he drifted through her mind, searching the dark corridors found there and finding the doors that had been closed. He could feel the taint of someone else, a devious binding upon her, but was unfamiliar with it and thus was unsure what might happen when he un-wove its knot. But he kept her safe within his mind as he began to pluck at the tangled web, freeing memories like petals and letting them drift free.
Sarah Jenkins let the memories drift past her, not examining any of them too carefully, she could do that later. She reached out and touched her leopard's fur, the her wolf, something she could never do with human hands. The slight stutter of her heart going unnoticed by her.
Rameaus Renard: It pained him to touch upon those memories that were dark and from the time she was taken from them, but he set them adrift, knowing that they were hers to forget or not as she wished. If there were faces or names, he committed them to his own memory. He felt the slight change in her heartbeat, but the need to free her mind was pressing. As she communed with her beasts, he plucked harder at the strands of her mind, freeing them faster, feeling a sudden need to be quick.
Sarah Jenkins let her beasts do what they wanted to, the rolled against his sides, her leopard managing to purr, her wolf softly growling as she moved her hands back to his chest, a slow slime forming on her lips as she just suddenly knew him.
Rameaus Renard: The last of that horrid knot unraveled within her mind, undone by his care for her. His own lips smiled from the pleasure of feeling the leopard and the wolf press against him, knowing him.....of her remembering him. Slowly, his mind withdrew from hers until he was once more looking upon her face.
Sarah Jenkins smiled, she remembered. "Rameaus..." she breathed softly before her eyes widened, her heart gave a heavy beat.... then stopped. She gasped, as if she couldn't get enough air, her hands clutching and twisting the lapels of his suit.
Rameaus Renard eyes widened as she struggled, his hands moving to grip her shoulders and pull her close, "Azeez!" His ears could hear that her heart had stopped, that she struggled to keep her life. Then he dawned on him that whoever had taken her memories, blocked them from her, had woven death into the knot as well. Though her heart had stopped, it was a human heart. He laid her upon the floor, even as she struggled and rose to his feet, knowing what he must do. His power focused on her and without warning, slammed into her, wrapped around her wolf and pulled it forward, "Come Wolf!! Come and all shall live!"
Sarah Jenkins's back arched, her eyes closing as she writhed on the floor, her wolf surged upwards, bones moved and popped, fur flowed upwards as the clear liquid covered and soaked into the rug. A whine followed, as she lay on her side amid the fluid, her tail thumping slowly.
Rameaus Renard watched intently, his face an unreadable mask. However, when the wolf lay upon the floor, tail thumping the floor, he smiled and crouched beside her. His hand moved to brush through her fur, not caring about the thick fluid that coated the floor. "There...now....rest, my friend, mera azeez. You have gone through much this night." He sat upon the couch and relaxed back. He would watch over her and keep her safe.
Sarah Jenkins looks up, her amber eyes blinking at him before she stood and moved to sit next to him, licking his hand. She bumped the top of her head against his leg before she rested her head on it.
Rameaus Renard encouraged her to climb onto the couch if she wished, his hand slowly combing through the thick fur of her large head. "You are quite beautiful, my dear.....This is the first time I've seen you this way."
Lerochelle Destiny snorted, scooting over between his legs and resting her head on his thigh, her ears twitching and tail slowly wagging as she looked up at him.
Rameaus Renard chuckled quietly and continued to pet her, then got another idea. Gently pushing her away, he stood up and moved to the bed. The last few nights had been quite hectic to say the least and he was more than happy to simply lounge. Patting the bed, "Come up...I'm sure you're tired...I am as well."
Lerochelle Destiny tilted her head and she watched him move then jumped up on the bed, laying down beside him.
Rameaus Renard curled his body around her furry one, nuzzling his face into her fur. Ra was at home with animals, always had been. There were times when he regretted the fact that he could no longer be near true beasts. There had been only one creature that had accepted him once he was a vampire and that had been his horse. He drew a slow breath and exhaled it, a long sigh. "Welcome home, mera azeez....I have missed you."
